The Power of Affirmations

During my studies in Yogic philosophy in London, Australia ,India and Peru I discovered and learnt about the classic Vedic text known as the Upanishads, which declares,

“You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

Subsequently I’ve seen this statement paraphrased in different texts repeatedly, and as I studied deeper into quantum physics and neuroscience. This quote aligns precisely with concepts that I instill in my students when they undergo the Cosmic Mind Shift Program. A program that aligns the heart and mind in a way that brings union of actions to best case scenarios.

Tapping into the sweet spot of the present moment

I learnt tips from the spiritual teacher Deepak Chopra and neuroscientist Dr Joe Dispenza, on how to get the most out of your meditation sessions and tap into the power of intentions faster, thereby restructuring your neuro pathways and bringing about a reality that aligns with your heart-felt desires.

1. Slip into the gap.

During an average day our mind is caught up in thoughts, emotions, and memories. Beyond this noisy internal dialogue is a state of silence, where the brain waves slow down; that is sometimes referred to as “the gap.”

Dr Joe Dispenza describes this “gap” is the space between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind.

One of the most effective tools we have for entering “the gap” is deep breathwork, tension release exercises and meditation. Meditation takes you beyond the analytical problem solving mind into the silence and stillness of pure consciousness.

This is the ideal state in which to plant your seeds of intention and positive affirmations.

In the Cosmic Mind Shift Program, you are taught somatic facial tension release tools and breathing techniques to efficiently and quickly slip into “the gap”.

2. Cultivate sensations of Gratitude through your whole being

Consciously create the vibrations of gratitude within your whole being. It is much more powerful when intentions comes from a place of contentment than when it arises from a sense of lack or desperate need.

Step into your highest power and stay faithful to your trust that everything unfolding in your favour.

As you lift your vibration, you may experience physical resistance – this resistance is your analytical mind trying to keep you in the predictable space. This space where your body and mind has been conditioned to function from predominantly, creating continuous predictable and often negative outcomes.

When you feel this resistance consciously refuse to be influenced by other people’s doubts or criticisms and be mindful of your own self-doubt and previously ritualised negative self-talk, allowing the mind and body to surrender.

3. Release your intentions and desires

Once you’re established in a state of restful awareness, as you comfortably float in Alpha and Theta brain waves, release your intentions and desires.

The best time to plant your intentions is during this magnetic state where the subconscious mind is open to suggestion of positive affirmation. If you are not in my guided NLP reprogramming session, and prefer to enjoy silent meditation on you own, then it is best to plant your intentions straight away in the period after meditation, while your awareness remains centered in the quiet field of all possibilities.

After you set an intention, let it go — simply stop thinking about it. Continue this process for a few minutes after your meditation period each day.

4. Detach from the outcome
.

Now this may be a step that is not easy for many, but it is a vital step in intention setting. Cultivate your ability to relinquish your rigid attachment to a specific result and instead move into the space of trusting the power of manifestation as you bask in curiosity and a comfortable acceptance of uncertainty.

Intend for everything to work out exactly as it should to allow for the best reality to come to fruition for you, then let go and allow exciting and wondrous opportunities and openings to come your way effortlessly.

Become excited about the unknown adventure and possibilities ahead of you and welcome the exciting surprises.

5. Trust that the Universe is unfolding in your FAVOUR!

By setting your intentions clearly, with focus and with confidence, you set the infinite organizing power of the universe in motion.

Be careful not to listen to the voice that says that you have to be in charge, that obsessive vigilance is the only way to get anything done. Instead embrace a sweet new habit of letting go of control, of surrendering, of clearing your mind of expectations and finding the sweet spot and infinite generous potential of the generous moment of now.

The outcome that you try so hard to force may not be as good for you as the one that comes naturally. So I invite you let go of your control and trust that the universe is unfolding in your favour to bring you abundance and a life experience that you will truly be in love with.

Today you release your intentions into the fertile ground of pure potentiality, trust that they will bloom when the season is right.
